Jesús and Javier Carbajales
manufacture the pieces in a completely handcrafted process. The first stage
in creating the models can take several days of testing and hard work.
Once the models are ready, they are reproduced to start testing the
colors. This stage takes even longer, since it means painting the models
and putting them in the kiln in order to observe the final product. In
some case, extra accessories are also added to the models.
When the new model is ready, the
production stage takes place and here hundreds or thousands of pieces are
reproduced. These pieces will be hand-carved by the craftsmen following
the artist´s instructions and put into the kiln. Then the pieces are hand-painted
by other craftsmen dedicated to this task and put into the kiln once again
to obtain the final product.
Following this, every piece is
examined by a group of people who verify if they meet the high quality
criteria established by the artists Jesus and Javier Carbajales.
